2023 Fundraising Goals
A Fighting Chance Against Addiction has partnered with the Galilee Mission where the proceeds from this event will be earmarked for the following:
Support the staff position of “Peer Recovery Specialist”
This individual will provide the support services that are needed when “in house” support has run its course and clients are on their own. They also can create the “bridge” needed when waiting for admission into one of the facilities, so clients are not left totally on their own.
Help expand the facilities capacity.
We hope to add additional beds through acquisition of a facility that can provide for expansion and stability going forward. With the recently added beds, GM is currently at
- 6 Homes
- 55 Beds

Our Mission
Welcome to A Fighting Chance, an event and future resource center to help those affected by drug addiction. We hope this site will become a long-term resource center for those suffering from mental health issues and addiction as well as for their families and friends whose lives are impacted by this epidemic disease. Opiate addiction is a harrowing problem that has reached new heights in recent years..
Our family, along with so many others, have been directly affected by this disease. Two years ago, we lost my son, Brett, to this disease. Our story, we’ve learned, is repeated by so many in our community. Our goal is to help those who are in need, but unable to identify the appropriate resources in a timely and affordable manner. We are joining with other families and friends in an effort to do what we can to help bring awareness to the issue, identify resources, and raise money to help addicts get the help they need. Our goal, simply put, is to save lives and provide futures for those who are struggling with this disease.
We will continue this effort with our second fundraiser on May 11, 2023 where we will be bringing awareness as to how many people in our own local community and throughout our state have been directly impacted by this disease. In addition, we will present what we can do, as a community, to save lives. It all starts with increasing awareness. We will introduce many of the available resources and identify the struggles they have in serving the growing needs.
Please consider joining us on May 11, 2023 to hear more about the mission, efforts, and how you can support “A Fighting Chance.” If you are unable to attend in person, but would like to help, please consider contributing so those in need get the help they deserve. Addiction has touched most of our lives, whether it was through our own struggles, or those of a friend, family member, co-worker, etc. It is going to take all of us to make a difference in “Creating a Fighting Chance” for those suffering.
